What is Project Fair

On September 8 and 9, in Puerto Iguazú, Argentina, FSC Latin America, FSC Argentina, and FSC Brazil held the 2nd FSC Latin America Ecosystem Services Forum, bringing together more than 120 participants around a shared objective: strengthening the connection between the positive impacts generated and verified in forests and those seeking to mobilize resources for nature conservation.

Under the theme “From Measured Impact to Financed Impact,” the Forum explored this challenge from different perspectives. The event began with a field visit, bringing the conversation directly into the forest, followed by a project showroom showcasing Ecosystem Services initiatives from across Latin America.

The agenda continued with a technical session focused on sponsorship and nature finance, featuring external stakeholders including the United Nations, IUCN, TNFD, universities, NGOs, and a range of experts. The exchange provided insights into what organizations interested in financing conservation are looking for and explored how these expectations can be connected with projects capable of demonstrating verifiable results.

The Project Fair then created a space for experts and projects from across the region to connect, present initiatives, and explore opportunities for collaboration and financing. The Forum concluded with an internal community of practice, where FSC offices from different regions of the network shared experiences and lessons learned on Ecosystem Services.

The Forum generated new connections, valuable insights, and a clearer vision of how to bring together territories, evidence, and finance. The next challenge is to build on these connections and continue strengthening the network’s capacity to move more projects from measured impact to financed impact.
