New Advice Note on Transaction Verifications and Wood Identification Sample Collection
FSC has published a new advice note addressed to its forest management / chain of custody (FM/CoC) certificate holders. It presents the requirements to facilitate the verification of their purchase or sale of FSC-certified products.
The advice note aims to safeguard the integrity of the FSC system by addressing integrity risks in relevant supply chains. To reach that goal, FSC asks FM/CoC certificate holders to participate in transaction verifications and help collect samples for wood identification references when requested.
The same requirements apply to FSC CoC certificate holders and are mentioned in the FSC-STD-60-004 V2-0 EN International Generic Indicators standard.
