New controlled wood risk assessments open for stakeholder consultation

All stakeholders are invited to provide feedback on new controlled wood risk assessments for Malaysia, Mexico, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Poland, Swaziland, and Turkey. The consultation will be open until 30 September 2017.

FSC risk assessments are used to determine the risk of an organization obtaining material from unacceptable sources when sourcing controlled wood.

Currently, risk assessments for category 4 are based on legal analysis alone. To fill the resulting information gap, we ask that stakeholders provide information regarding forest conversion data.

Stakeholder feedback received during the consultation period will be used to finalize these risk assessments. Read more…
